GMSV has revealed on their social media that the Z06 will be on public display for the first time in Australia at the Corvette Nationals in Ballarat on Saturday 25 March.
The press has been reporting for the last few weeks that GMSV has taken possession of the first Z06 to reach Australia. It has been widely expected that the release of the car would take place in the near future, and Corvette aficionados and the motoring press have all been waiting for an announcement.
It has finally been announced that this public reveal will take place at the Australian Corvette Nationals which are being held in Ballarat from 24 March until 27 March. The event has been titled the Ballarat Gold Rush Nationals in acknowledgement of Ballarat’s gold rush era which took part during the 1850s.
With GMSV presenting as the major sponsor of the biggest Corvette event of the year, the unveiling of the Z06 is a perfect fit to the event. Corvette owners from all over Australia will be gathering in Ballarat to renew acquaintances after a wait of 4 years since the last Nationals on Queensland’s Gold Coast. Although normally an annual event, the last three Nationals have all suffered forced cancellations due to the Covid 19 pandemic. So this running of this premier event will be a very special reunion for everyone and will be made even more special with the appearance of the mighty Z06.
The Show ‘n’ Shine part of the Nationals will be conducted on the west bank of Lake Wendouree, near the botanical Gardens. GMSV will be presenting their cars in the midst of the show cars and this exhibition will include Australia’s only C8 Z06.
